Elizabeth Rusch and Mead Hunter

Oregon Book Award winner Elizabeth Rusch teaches at The Attic, and this spring is offering a Children's Picture Book Intensive. Her web site offers this description:
Do you have an idea for a picture book that you've never had the chance to get on paper? Or drafts of picture books that you want to polish and submit? Through studying the picture book form, reading successful picture books, doing writing exercises that help you develop your characters, narrative and voice, and by critiquing and having your work critiqued, this intensive picture book workshop will help you develop your picture book ideas into finished, polished manuscripts.
Oregon Book Awards advisory committee member, Delve guide, and former Portland Center Stage literary manager Mead Hunter reflects on his blog this week on all that's happened to him since he left PCS, and what it feels like to return as an audience member. The last two sentences of his posting are especially heartening:
Color me deinstitutionalized. And loving it.
