Literary Arts is pleased to announce the next events of the 2010 Oregon Book Awards Author Tour, featuring Oregon Book Awards authors. Readings will take place in these cities:
Enterprise on Wednesday, May 12th at 7:00 p.m. at the Fishtrap Coffin House, 400 East Grant Street.
Baker City on Friday, May 14th at 7:00 p.m. at the Crossroads Art Center.
Conversation with the authors and book selling follow each reading.
Also, on Thursday, May 12th, there will be a special screening of the film Wendy and Lucy in Huber Auditorium on the campus of Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, on Thursday, May 13th at 7:00 p.m. The movie will be followed by a Q&A with Jon Raymond. Wendy and Lucy is based on a story in Raymond's collection Livability.
Authors appearing on the tour will be:
John Kroger of Salem, winner of the Sarah Winnemucca Award in Creative Nonfiction for Convictions: A Prosecutor's Battles Against Mafia Killers, Drug Kingpins, and Enron Thieves. Kroger is the Attorney General of Oregon. Prior to being elected in 2008, he had earlier served in the Marine Corps, was a federal prosecutor in New York, and most recently was a law professor at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland.
Donna Matrazzo of Portland, finalist in creative nonfiction for Wild Things: Adventures of a Grassroots Environmentalist. Matrazzo is a science, environmental and history writer whose work has appeared in numerous publications, on PBS and the Discovery Channel, and in national park visitor centers and museums around the country.
Jon Raymond of Portland, winner of the Ken Kesey Award in Fiction for Livability. Raymond is also the author of The Half-Life, a novel. Wendy and Lucy is based on a story in Livability. Raymond is an editor at Plazm magazine and his writing has appeared in Bookforum, Artforum, the Village Voice and other publications.Labels: Oregon Book Awards Author Tour
